LAHORE — Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi on Sunday clarified the media reports about his relation to new Lahore Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rafia Haider.

Reacting to a news channel’s claim that DC Rafia Haider is his first cousin, Naqvi tweeted, “Rafia Haider is not my cousin nor my wife’s first cousin. Will appreciate if GNN can make this correction. She is a good officer indeed.”

In a major reshuffle on Saturday, Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman changed all deputy commissioners of the province. As a result, Lahore got the second woman deputy commissioner, Rafia Haide.

Rafia Haider is an officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) from the 40th Common. She holds a degree in public policy from a German university.

In the past, Rafia Haider has worked as assistant commissioner in Faisalabad, additional director general of operations at the Punjab Food Authority, deputy secretary for primary health, director of CDC Health and CEO of the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC).

Before her transfer to Lahore, she was working as director general of Civic Management at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad.
