LAHORE — Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Friday moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) against Governor Balighur Rehman’s decision to de-notify him as Punjab chief minister.
Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman had asked Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to seek vote of confidence on December 21 from members of the Punjab Assembly to prove he has the support of the required number of lawmakers in the provincial assembly.
However, Parvez Elahi refused to do so citing legal reasons. In consequence, the governor de-notified Parvez Elahi as Punjab chief minister around midnight on Thursday (December 22).
