ISLAMABAD – Marriyum Aurangzeb, federal minister for information and broadcasting, on Friday clarified reports about the health of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan.

In a picture now circulating on social media, Rana Sanaullah can be seen lying on a hospital bed or stretcher wearing a surgery gown and an oxygen mask.

The picture raised concerns about the health of the interior minister, who is also a senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and a close aide of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Against this backdrop, Marriyum took to Twitter and clarified that Rana Sanaullah had gone to the military hospital AFIC in Rawalpindi for a scheduled heart procedure and that he was in good health now.

Later, the PML-N shared an audio message from Rana Sanaullah on its Twitter page.

Former federal minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain prayed for Rana Sanaullah’s recovery.
