LAHORE – Soon after some Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders came up with an alleged audio conversation between Malik Riaz and his daughter Amber Riaz, the real estate tycoon came forward with a clarification on Sunday evening.

Taking to Twitter, Malik Riaz said, “With latest technologies as deep fake, fabricating an audio conversation shouldn’t be a surprise. The audio associated to me on social media is obviously a product of technology.

“I don’t wish to involve in political campaigns of any party, but the most appalling fact is that my voice and reference is being used to settle personal and political scores.

“I absolutely detest these continuous attacks on me, now involving my family too. I intend to pursue this matter legally too and will be using all possible legal forums to find people behind this conspiracy against me.

“Anyone found to be originator and facilitators in spreading fake material will be taken to task.”

Earlier, PML-N leaders Ata Tarar and Azma Bukhari made public at a press conference in Lahore a leaked audio call allegedly between Riaz and his daughter Amber wherein the two were discussing a five-carat diamond ring that they were going to present to former first lady Bushra Bibi.

Later, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Farrukh Habib rejected the audio tape and its content as baseless. He said his party had no connection with this alleged audio call between Riaz and his daughter.
