Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, federal minister for science and technology, on Sunday criticised his fellow ministers for demanding public hanging of the men suspected of raping a woman on Lahore Motorway last week.

Fawad tweeted, “Burn alive. Hang publically. Remove their organs. Such a reaction from the public is understandable, but such statements from our ministers and educated segments of the society without any hesitation reflect the violent mindset of our society, which considers violence solution to every problem.”

In another tweet, Fawad shared a line from Elif Shafak’s “The Forty Rules Of Love” in support of his argument. “In this life, stay away from all kinds of extremities, for they will destroy your inner balance.”

Also, Fawad snubbed well-known reporter Ansar Abbasi for his comments about punishment for the suspected rapists and told him to study what Islam requires before punishing anyone.
