Fakhar Zaman has become the first Pakistani batsman to score the fastest 3,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs).

He reached this milestone in his 67th innings. South African batsman Hashim Amla is the only player to get there quicker. He achieved this milestone in his 57th innings.

Fakhar Zaman scored his 3000th run in the second ODI, which was played between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Pakistan won the match by seven wickets and are now leading the series 2-0.

In Saturday’s match, Fakhar Zaman scored 180 runs not out off 144 balls while chasing the huge 337-run target set by New Zealand. This was his third 150+ score in the ODIs and he was given the Player of the Match award for spearheading a special chase against the Kiwis.

Other Pakistani batsmen who have scored the fastest 3,000 runs in ODIs are Babar Azam (68 innings), Inzamam-ul-Haq (87 innings), Aamir Sohail (92 innings) and Saeed Anwar (92 innings).

Also on Saturday, Fakhar Zaman became the fourth Pakistan batter to score three consecutive ODI hundreds. The other three Pakistani batsmen who have achieved this honour are Zaheer Abbas, Saeed Anwar and Babar Azam.

Fakhar Zaman is a left-handed opening batsman who represents the Pakistan cricket team in all formats of the game. He was born on April 10, 1990, in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

Fakhar made his debut for Pakistan in the limited-overs format in June 2017 and quickly made an impact with his aggressive style of batting. He is particularly known for his fearless approach against fast bowlers and his ability to score at a quick pace. Fakhar has also shown his versatility by being able to play the anchor role when required.

Fakhar’s finest moment came in the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, where he scored a match-winning century against arch-rivals India. He became the first Pakistani batsman to score a century in a final of an ICC tournament.

In domestic cricket, Fakhar represents Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League. He has also played for Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan’s domestic cricket structure.

Overall, Fakhar is considered one of Pakistan’s most promising batting talents and has already achieved a lot in a short span of time.
