How much the top Pakistani singers like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam charge for a show has been a mystery until now.
However, fellow singer Naeem Abbas Rufi has revealed the amount the aforementioned singers charge for a show. During a podcast show, host Nadir Ali asked Rufi, “Who is the most expensive singer of Pakistan?”
Rufi said Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam are the most expensive singers in Pakistan. He said that Rahat and Atif charge $70,000 for one show in the United States. In Pakistan, he said, these singers charge between Rs8 million and Rs10 million and this amount can go up to Rs20 million.
Answering a question from Nadir Ali, Rufi said Atif and Rahat don’t do wedding and birthday shows. He said that Rahat occasionally does wedding shows, but Atif doesn’t do these shows.
Responding to a question about the amount charged by Pakistan singer and actor Ali Zafar, Rufi said Ali Zafar does not fall in the category of most expensive Pakistani singers. He said that Ali Zafar charges Rs2 million to Rs2.5 million per show.
Rahat primarily sang Qawwali, a form of Sufi devotional music. He is one of the highest paid singers in Pakistan. He is the nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, son of Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan and grandson of Qawwali singer Fateh Ali Khan.
Atif Aslam, born 12 March 1983, is a Pakistani playback singer, songwriter, composer and actor. He has recorded many songs in both Pakistan and India, and is known for his vocal belting technique.
