The first prediction about the final outcome of the T20 World Cup 2022 being played in Australia has proved wrong.

Star batsman Chris Gayle had predicted before the beginning of the cricket tournament a few days ago that West Indies and Australia would be the favourite teams for the T20 World Cup final.

Building his argument, Gayle had said that West Indies were a dangerous team and everything would be in their favour in the T20 World Cup 2022.

However, now the West Indies team has proved Gayle wrong as Ireland defeated West Indies by 9 wickets in the 11th match of the first round.

After facing defeat in the match that was played in Hobart this week, the West Indies team has failed to qualify for the Super 12 phase of the T20 World Cup 2022.

In this way, West Indies were eliminated from the T20 World Cup in the first phase of the cricket tournament.

Gayle, a Jamaican cricketer, has been playing international cricket for the West Indies since 1999.

Having the reputation of a destructive batter, Gayle is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen to have played Twenty20 cricket. Some say he is the best ever.

The 43 years old batsman has been a regular feature at the Pakistan Super League (PSL) until recently.
