Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.

Mahmood took to Twitter and said that he has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus, saying that he is “fine with mild symptoms”.

The senior PTI leader took part in an event on Tuesday morning before he tested positive for the virus. PM Imran Khan’s special assistant Usman Dar was also present at the event.

However, instead of isolating himself, the minister attended the event where he, being the chief guest, came to the stage and spoke to the youth and some officials there.

Shafqat’s announcement came a few days after the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) announced relaxation in coronavirus restrictions and re-opening of schools, commercial markets, restaurants and other business activities.
