SBP clarifies social media reports about design of Rs75 currency note

LAHORE — The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday dismissed social media reports showing design of a new Rs75 currency note, which they said would be issued on Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day in August this year.

The SBP wrote on its official Twitter handle (@StateBank_Pak), “#SBP clarifies that the design circulating on various social media platforms regarding commemorative banknote to be issued on the 75th independence day of Pakistan is Fake.”

On Friday, social media users extensively shared a picture of a fake Rs75 Pakistani currency note and said the SBP was going to issue it on its 75th Independence Day on August 14, 2022.
