ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’ Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Thursday gave details of the losses suffered in an operation carried out by the country’s armed forces against a group of Taliban militants who had seized a CTD police station in Bannu.

Taking to Twitter, Asif said that one of the Special Services Group (SSG) soldier, who was wounded in the Bannu operation, embraced martyrdom today.

He said that three SSG personnel and four hostages were martyred in the operation reportedly led by Major Abid Zaman of the Pakistan Army. He said that 11 people, including two officers of the armed forces, were injured in the operation. He said that 19 militants were killed and 12 arrested in the operation.

Asif said may the Almighty be with Pakistan’s security forces and give them success. He said the nation would be thankful to them forever.
