Lahore Qalandars win PSL8 final

LAHORE – Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans played the final of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL8) at Gaddafi Stadium today (Saturday).

Lahore Qalandars, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, won the toss and chose to bat first. Batting first, Lahore Qalandars set a 201-run target for Multan Sultans to win in 20 overs at the loss of six wickets. Lahore Qalandars batsmen Abdullah Shafique scored 65 runs off 40 balls and Shaheen Shah Afridi hit 44 runs in 44 runs off 15 balls.

Chasing the 201-run target, Multan Sultans put up a brave fight and scored 199 runs in 20 overs at the loss of eight wickets.

A big number of cricket lovers is present in the stadium to watch the final match.

It is a coincidence that both Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans had played the final of the PSL7 in 2022. In that match, Lahore Qalandars had beaten Multan Sultans by 42 runs.
